Recently Troop 215 has “branched out” and attended other merit badge-based camps: Camp Daniel Boone, Camp Ravenknob, Camp Powatan etc. Our older scouts have attended High Adventure weeks at Pamlico SeaBase, Ravenknob’s Rampage, New River Adventure and Florida SeaBase. Some scouts have joined district contingent groups to attend Philmont and the Summit. Since 1996, Troop 215 has made a periodic high adventure trip to the NC mountains to hike the Appalachian Trail, raft the Nantahala, Ocoee and Nolichucky rivers, horseback ride and visit the Cherokee Outdoor Drama (aka “The Appletree Adventure”). The last Appletree Adventure was in July 2016. Summer camp costs range from $150-$400 for the week of summer camp (excluding transportation and food along the way).
